Rehab of beloved knives and schedule for rest of season.

A customer brought me an old paring knife with a beautiful patina on it.   IT was made by Hoffritz.  It had been in the family for some time and the handle had begun to rot off and fall apart.  They were made in Solingen Germany and imported from the 1930’s on.  The knife is very flexible and thin.  The handle was brown and faded and not much left on one side.  It may have been ebony at one point but it looked a lot like walnut so that is what I replaced it with.  I sharpened it and hopefully it will provide another 70 plus years of work.   We love old knives and love giving them a second life.  Jut one of the many things we do here at Cape Cod Cutlery.20451585_10211955359851830_7589495703428734559_o
