This Weekend !!

Friday we will be at Cape Cod Beer Farmers Market from 3-6 on site knife sharpening will be available.   Saturday and Sunday we will be selling at the Castleberry Liberty Crafts Show in Chatham.  It should be awesome!! Sunday Tom will man the booth in Chatham and I will be taking the sharpening business over to Drummer Boy Park in Brewster from 9-1  to put a keen edge on all the dull blades brought to us at the Brewster Historical Society Farmers Market!!   So come on out and see us at these great local events.  Check out our latest damascus knives and pick up an oyster knife for yourself or oyster loving friends.

In these two pictures you will see some wood products. on the left an Oyster board hand carved by Dan of Dirty Dan’s Cranberries.   The next picture shows two knife blocks made by Dan out of local Red Oak that he cut down and split and sanded for us.  Dan is a great young man who raises herbs, chickens, cranberries and does local live edge wood craft.  He is really living off the land and taking the homesteading craft and lifestyle to heart.  We will no doubt be doing more work with him as his live wood and rustic look sits well with our own local rustic aesthetic.  Look for him at local farmer’s markets like Chatham where we met him and hang out every Tuesday.   Cool video on the Chatham Market

Knife Sharpening in Brewster

We worked the great new market at Brewster’s Drummer Boy Park.  It is on Sundays  from  9 -1 and is sponsored by the historical society.   There is such a demand for knife sharpening in Brewster that we have decided to split our efforts on a bunch of Sundays and I will  go sharpen in Brewster. The dates we are looking at are July 2, 16 and 30.  Aug 13, 27, Sept 3, 10, 17.  Look for us under the windmill.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Come on down for Father’s day weekend and join us at Cape Cod Beer Friday at 3 for their Farmers Market and on the Town hall green in Hyannis on  Saturday and Sunday for the craft fair and car show.   Get  Dad something he will love and use, no more ties!!!

We have been really busy working to bring you new things for these shows.  We have some small damascus blades with fossilized walrus tusk handles.  These are very fancy and Dad would love one.   We also have kitchen knife sets and individual oyster , filet and chef knives..  The oyster knife pictured is  handled in a cool new wood for us..  It is called honey locust. This beautiful super hard wood has a rich golden color and was used by pioneers for furniture and boat building it is good for getting wet because it is naturally rot resistant.   The seed pods are sweet and edible and Native Americans used to make beer out of it.  You will be seeing more knives with this wood in the future.  This trees coolest feature though has to be it’s giant thorny spikes that cover the bark  and can easily stab you  to a depth of 3-8 inches.   We have to be careful harvesting these bad boys!!
